Money Market Deposits

This section provides a quick guide to transacting deals, viewing trade history and other features within the BOSdeal Money Market Deposits application. The accompanying demo, accessed from the right hand menu, provides additional visual guidance. More detailed help is available within the Trading Application.

Most errors can be rectified by following the on-screen instructions or by refreshing your browser - simply press "F5" or click your browsers 'reload page' button. In the event of any unexplained error, or a situation that cannot be quickly resolved by refreshing your browser, please contact us.

Once registered with Bank of Scotland Treasury, you will be provided with a Digital Certificate and, separately, a user name and password. A member of our eBusiness team will guide you through the security installation process personally, to ensure the correct set-up is achieved.

Once completed, navigate from this www.BOSdeal.com site to the application login via the "Money Market Deposits" button displayed above. Note: If this button is not displayed, follow the link providing further guidance notes on browser settings.

Rates
On entering the application you are presented with the "My Rates" tab. This view can be personalised by clicking on the 'pencil' icon. You can also enhance the grid and populate rates for your specific needs by entering a Maturity Date and clicking the "Add Date" button.

When the rate values are displayed in grey they cannot be dealt; either you are not configured for that currency (in which case please contact us or the money markets have become particularly volatile meaning that a stable price cannot be provided – please either telephone to book your deal, or check back later.

Deal Input
To deal, simply click on the rate grid to select your required currency and tenor; this will populate the right-hand "Deal Input" section. Alternatively you can manually enter the required details directly. If you wish, the deal parameters can be adjusted to suit your exact needs. For example, start dates can be any business day from today up to the next 6 business days to provide you with greater flexibility. Enter an amount and choose your required Dealing Name, noting that if you wish to trade across several names, check the "split" box. As rates may change, click the "Request Quote" button for an up-to-date rate, before clicking "Submit" to progress the deal.

Deal Acceptance
It is at this stage that you will irrevocably commit to the money market trade, so carefully check all the details, including your split and auto-rollover requirements. Once checked, click the "Accept" button. If you don't complete the check within the countdown time, you will need to resubmit the deal.

Deal Split
If you have elected to split the trade you can record the sum into more than one of your Dealing Names, thus creating several deals at the same rate & tenor in the same currency, but with different settlements. Should you fail to complete the required information in the allotted time (approximately 10 minutes) the committed deal will be booked as a single trade in the original dealing name.

Deal Acknowledgement
Once the deal has been committed, an on-screen deal acknowledgement is produced. Clicking the Print button creates a pdf file that you can save &/or print.

Today's Trades
When returning to the main page, the trade you have just undertaken will be displayed at the foot of the page within 'Today's Trades' section. If your colleagues are also dealing under the same Dealing Names, you will also be able to view their trades.

Trading Status
We'll provide you with important trading messages during the day in this section, including a link to the deals that you need to action today.

Trade History
This view allows you to search all of your deals, both those undertaken online and by phone. Once the results are shown, you are provided with four options:

Acknowledgement – select the required trade(s) and click the 'Acknowledgement' button to display the Deal Acknowledgement(s).

Download – export all trades to a file which you can save on your PC.

Update Roll Status – This function allows you to redefine your maturity instructions for trade(s) that you select – see Rollovers below.

Rollover Manually – If any of your trade(s) mature within the next 6 working days, clicking this button will take you to the rollover screen.

Rollover
Select the trade(s) you wish to roll and click the 'Add Selected Rows' button; this will add the value of the deal into the lower part of the screen where you can add or repay funds and create a new deal, much in the same way as the Deal Input functionality.

In addition to this manual rollover feature, the bank will automatically process trades that you have not rolled by maturity, relative to your auto-rollover instructions.

Personalise
My Rates – There are two elements that you can personalise within My Rates; at least 1 currency and 1 rate must be selected:

  • The drop-down currency lists enable you to select the currencies that you wish to display on your "My Rates" tab; &
  • The check-boxes can be enabled/disabled to display the rates for the standard tenors that you wish to see.
Deal Input – There are three parts that can be adjusted:
  • Rollover defaults allows you to define what maturity option you would like to have as you create deals;
  • For each currency, if you have multiple Dealing Names, you can select a default Dealing Name; &
  • Define your preferred Start Date for each currency.

Once you have personalised your BOSdeal Money Markets Deposits application, click the save button to record your preferences.

Foreign Exchange

This section provides a quick guide to transacting deals, viewing trade history and other features within the BOSdeal FX application. The accompanying demo, accessed from the right hand menu, provides additional visual guidance. More detailed help is available within the Trading Application.

In the event of any unexplained error please contact us.

Once registered with Bank of Scotland Treasury, you will be provided with a Digital Certificate and, separately, a user name and password. A member of our eBusiness team will guide you through the security installation process personally, to ensure the correct set-up is achieved.

Once completed, navigate from this www.BOSdeal.com site to the application login via the "Foreign Exchange" button displayed above. Note: If this button is not displayed, follow the link providing further guidance notes on browser settings.

FX Spot Deal
The default view is the Spot FX rates page. Here you will see streaming rates for your defined currency pairs. Click on either the buy (left hand side) or sell rate and input an amount in one currency and the corresponding amount will be automatically populated. Next select a Dealing Name that you wish to settle and your choice of value date: today, tomorrow or spot are supported in this window. You can now click the Submit button.

The Deal Acceptance screen now provides you with a summary of your requested trade and seconds to accept – it is at this stage that you create an irrevocable contract. The accepted trade is then displayed within the Today's Trades section and you have the option to enter your own remarks to assist with your reconciliation.

FX Forward Deal
Selecting Forwards from the left-hand menu will present you with streaming rates for standard forward tenors. Once you have selected a Currency Pair and Dealing Name, you can either choose your required standard tenor or, should you require a specific date, enter this within the Value Date field.

Choose the buy or sell currency and enter the principal amount and the corresponding figure will be displayed. Next click submit. You can also enter several deals to be processed at the same time.

As with Spot FX, a similar Deal Acceptance screen now provides you with a summary of your requested trade(s) and a few seconds to accept – it is at this stage that you create an irrevocable contract. You have the option to enter your own remarks to assist with your reconciliation and print a record of your instruction.

Trade History
You can search for any web based or telephone deals by trade date and sort the results by clicking on the column names.
